I want to use my two SoundTouch 10 as a dumb speakers for my PC, but after 20 minutes of not playing, they turn off and I need to press button to power on and reconnect the AUX connection. That annoying auto-off feature!
Hardware
I use a “Y” cable, 3.5mm, stereo on one end and mono on the other two ends, male on all ends. Also known as: 3.5mm (1/8") TRS Stereo Male to Dual 3.5mm (1/8") TS Mono Male Audio Breakout Cable.
Press and hold the 2 and volume down keys together for 5 seconds until the wifi LED turns amber. Then, disconnect from your current internet connection and connect your computer to the Bose access point wifi.
Connect to the SoundTouch 10’s Wifi
Verify connection to the SoundTouch WiFi
Use telnet to connect to the speaker, like this: telnet 192.0.2.1 17000
sys select AUX AUX
->OK
->sys timeout inactivity disable
Inactivity timer is disabled
->OK
DONE!
