AlmaLinux OS provides a stable, easy to set up and fully featured desktop PC. This is the easiest CentOS/RH based client set-up I've ever experienced. I tried the live images available on the AlmaLinux OS website. They did not work well for installation, but nonetheless they were good for a quick taste of what the OS is like. The "AlmaLinux-9.3-x86_64-minimal.iso" image worked best for my install. I enjoy using the GNOME desktop environment, but I know it's not for everyone.
I tried Xfce, it works 99%, Bluetooth is a pain since no Bluetooth GUIs are in any repositories I can find. Compiling Blueman is a pain. One could survive on bluetoothctl from the commandline, but that's a pain as well. Just use Gnome. I has its bluetooth GUI built in.

"Server with GUI"
Use disk encryption if installing on a laptop.
DESKTOP: If installing a deskop other than Gnome, use one of the live images for the desired desktop.
Get a internet connection going as soon as possible for a smooth install. Using a wired LAN connection during install is best.
dnf install epel-release
dnf config-manager --set-enabled crb
dnf update
Open the install software application and install the software you need. Don't shy away from the Flatpak apps, they seem fast and reliable.
Maybe install Fedora on your laptop and AlmaLinux 9 on your desktop PC. This way you'll have 2 different update cycles and less change of an update breaking everything.
The Google Chrome Flatpak should be available in Flathub and show up as available in the Gnome Software app. If it doesn't show up, enable Flathub in you Gnome Software app, do this:
Open "Software"
Click the hamburger menu to the top right.
Click "Software Repositories"
Toggle the switch for Flathub under Applications (Flatpak)
Go here, click "Download Chrome" at the top right.
Select: 64 bit .rpm (For Fedora/openSUSE).
Accept and Install.
Open the downloads folder in your filebrowser.
Double click the file: "google-chrome-stable_current_x86_64.rpm"
Install from the "Software" app the pops up.
